The Game Awards 2019 took place tonight and has now concluded however during the entirety of the event, we got to see some of the best and the most-surprising reveals and announcements. The Game Awards takes place every year in the end to celebrate the video games and the developers of that particular year. This year was no different and was probably the best The Game Awards show to date.

During tonight’s show, we finally got our first look at the next-gen Xbox console which is now officially called Xbox Series X along with the new controller it will ship with. We also got to see some next-gen games which show that next-gen is nearly upon us. However, developers also showcased their plans for 2020 and we got to see some really cool expansions and new game announcements slated for 2020 release.

This article will focus on all the reveals, world premieres, and announcements from tonight’s show.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 X-Men: Rise of the Phoenix

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will get a DLC called X-Men: Rise of the Phoenix. The DLC is set to release in less than a couple of weeks from today’s announcement at The Game Awards 2019. The DLC comes with a new mode called The Danger Room Showdown, where players can play against each other.

Maneater

A new trailer for Maneater was also shown at The Game Awards 2019, which also revealed the release date for the game which is going to be on May 5, 2020. Revealed last year at the PC Gaming Show 2018, the game is an open-world RPG where you play as a shark, exploring the sea and eating any people you can find. You can also find creative ways to hunt humans that are on the land by using electricity or even evolving yourself to get to the land.

Dreams

One of the ads that were shown at The Game Awards today included Dreams, the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive title that lets you create your own type of game or any sort of level that you can imagine. The ad feature the main cast from the movie Jumanji, where we could see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jack Black in their Jumanji movie attire. Dreams is set to release next year on a date that is yet to be confirmed by Sony.

Humankind

Humankind is the next strategy title from Amplitude Studios, who is known for titles like Endless Legend. The game begins in the Stone Age era and puts you into building a civilization and eventually an empire of your own, battling opponents and growing the civilization. The main objective of the game is to fight other opponents for dominance and then growing your empire. Humankind is expected to release sometime next year.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Another trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been revealed, and this time it is at the biggest gaming award show. The new trailer for the game features a little bit of everything, from action, character relationship and some dialogue here and there. However, the biggest take from the trailer is about Cloud, his allies and their fight in Midgar. Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches exclusively for the PlayStation 4 net year on March 3, 2020. The exclusivity is for a timed period, which means that we can see the title on other platforms in 2021.

Mortal Kombat 11 Joker DLC

Joker is set t join the roster of Mortal Kombat 11 as the next DLC character. And while the trailer shows Harley Quinn, it is not really her as it is Cassie Cage who is wearing the skin of Quinn. That might have got you excited for a second. Nonetheless, Joker arrives in the game next year on January 28, 2020. We expect more to details to come in the next few weeks, where we will get to see some gameplay footage of the Joker in action and his moves in the game.

Control Expeditions

Control gets its first new DLC called the Expeditions, which is available right now and is for free. If you own a copy of Control, you can get the expansion right now to play. Expeditions DLC brings in a new timed game mode that will test your skill by providing you a set of challenges to complete. Complete challenges to unlock a new outfit and earn materials. With each Expedition you complete, the challenges get progressively difficult.

Godfall

Godfall is the first title that is announced for the next-gen PlayStation 5. The game was revealed at The Game Awards 2019 event and is a third-person shooter and slasher type melee combat game. It is being developed by both Gearbox and Counterplay Games. Godfall is going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, which means that it will be available in the Holiday season of 2020.

Xbox Series X

The next Xbox console is revealed to be Xbox Series X, which is set to release on Holiday 2020. The surprise reveal also showed the console along with the controller. The console comes with a completely new look and a redesigned controller.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

The first launch title for Xbox Series X has been revealed to be the sequel to Hellblade. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is set to be one of the first tiles to release on the next-gen Xbox console. A trailer of the game shown at the event brings us back to the dark world of Senua, the Celtic Warrior fighting enemies in a dark world.

Bravely Default 2

Another title that is announced for the Nintendo Switch for next year is Bravely Default 2. The game was announced with a trailer that you can see below. So far we know that the game will feature a new part of characters from the original Nintendo 3DS game. It is not a sequel of the original game, but a standalone title in the series.

Warframe Empyrean

Warframe’s Empyrean expansion is now live and it is available for PC players right now. The new expansion is all about the co-op spaceship battle that will take place between you and other players online. The expansion will bring three battle zones that are Saturn, Earth, and Veil Proxima. Additionally, the Rising tide expansion is now live for players on console. So if you have the game on the Xbox One and PS4, you can play the expansion right now.

Prologue

The prologue is the next title by PlayerUnknown that was revealed at the event. The reveal was more of a short teaser that did not give any other information about the game at all.

Sons of the Forest

Sons of the Forest is a pretty thrilling and creepy game that is said to be all about demon hunting in the forest. The trailer shown at The Game Awards featured some terrifying gameplay footage. There are no details about the release of the game or when it will be released, but it is expected to launch for PC.

Ruined King

Riot Games revealed a new League of Legend related game called Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. The game is a turn-based RPG that is developed by Airship Syndicate. The developer is known for the recent release of Darksiders: Genesis. The trailer shown at The Game Awards focused on the pirate region f the game Bilgewater. The game is set after the events of Burning tides, where you will take control of League of Legends champions and explore the bustling city of Bilgewater.

Dark Alliance

Dark Alliance is the new Dungeons and Dragons game that was also revealed at the Game Awards 2019. The game is a third-person hack and slash RPG that is set to launch for PC next year.

Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash

Apex Legends announced its winter event called Holo-Day Bash where it features the legend Mirage and a lot of content that is heading into the game for the holiday season. This also comes with the Winter Express LTM that is set to launch sometime later. The Holo-Day Bash is live right now where you can participate in the event and buy skins for your favorite Legend in the game.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps has now been delayed until March, as the new date for its release is set for March 11, 2020. The game was originally going to release in February of next year but has been pushed a month ahead. A trailer was also shown at The Game Awards, but the announcement was more of a delay confirmation other than showing new details. Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be available on the Xbox One and PC.

Weird West

From the creators of Prey and Dishonored comes a new title called Weird West. The trailer of the game shown at the event details the top-down strategy game that is set in the Wild West among supernatural beings. Take a look at the trailer below:

Magic Legends

Magic: Legends has been announced to be a large multiplayer action RPG that is set in the world of Magic: The Gathering. A trailer was also shown at The Game Awards where it details how players will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the acclaimed fictional multiverse of Magic: The Gathering. You will play the game as a powerful, spell-wielding Planeswalker when the game starts its beta testing phase next year.

Ghost of Tsushima

Perhaps the highly anticipated announcement was about Ghost of Tsushima, which came with a new trailer for the PS4 exclusive game, developed by Sucker Punch. If you are not aware of the game, it is an action-adventure that is set in Japan. You play as the katana-wielding protagonist who is shown to be both aggressive and stealthy in combat. Gears Tactics

A new trailer for Gears Tactics was shown at the event, which is a turn-based strategy game in the Gears of War series by Microsoft. The game was first revealed back in May at E3 2019 and is a prequel that is set 12 years before the events of the original Gears of War title. The game will be available for PC and you can get it from Steam or if you have the Xbox Game Pass.

Naraka: Bladepoint

24 Entertainment revealed a new gameplay trailer of Nakara: Bldepoint which featured a lot of sword fighting and blood. The producer of the game talked about creating something that looks visually stunning and instantly appeals to fans of multiplayer online combat. Take a look at the trailer below:

Black Desert – Mobile

After its debut on PC and consoles, MMORPG Black Desert is now available on iOS and Android devices. Players can download and play the game on their devices right now.

New World

Amazon Game Studios shared an update on its upcoming MMORPG title New World. The game is slated for release in May 2020 and it is a team-based PvPvE title. The game will combine survival mechanics with exploration, resource exploitation and expansion and players start their journey by joining a guild that begins a brand new culture. The island also features other players already settled so players will need to craft, build and defend their own base while trying to defeat other players on the island. Convergence: A League of Legends Story

Convergence: A League of Legends Story is the second spin-off game announced by Riot at today’s event. It is an action-platformer title and it stars Ekko, a character who can manipulate time at his will with the help of a device. Check out the trailer for the game below.

Surgeon Simulator 2

Bossa Studios announced a sequel to the critically-acclaimed surgical simulation game, Surgeon Simulator 2. The game will be released on consoles and PC via Epic Games Store first. Surgeon Simulator 2 has a Spring 2020 release window. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below.

The Wolf Among Us 2

Telltale Games announced the next chapter in its long-forgotten title The Wolf Among Us which ended in a major cliffhanger. Ever since the studio was shut down, the future of the franchise was unknown but the developer confirmed tonight that the sequel is indeed in development however a release date was not announced today. Telltale Games is teaming up with AdHoc Studios to developer The Wolf Among Us 2. Check out the teaser trailer for the game below.

Fast and the Furious: Crossroads

During the show, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez took to the stage and announced a brand new game Fast and the Furious: Crossroads which will arrive in May 2020.
