A German publication by the name of GameStar has just released the first set of screenshots of the upcoming title The Lord of the Rings Gollum by Daedalic Entertainment on the PlayStation 5. The game is set to lunch next year on Sony’s next-gen console that is set to launch this year in the holiday season.
The screenshots show us Gollum, the ring loving creature who was once a Hobbit but corrupted by the desire for the One Ring. We can see various other locations in Mordor where Gollum creeps past in stealth, which seems to be a big part o the game, sneaking around hostiles.
The screenshots give us the first look of a game on the next-gen console like the PlayStation 5. The screenshots also show most of the major plot locations as mentioned in the books and shown in The Lord of the Rings films as well. As far as the gameplay is concerned, we do know that it will be all about sneaking and evading enemies, which Gollum is pretty well known for.
There might not be any fighting that Gollum might be doing in the game, which doesn’t come as a surprise as he is an already weak character who is incapable of fighting larger humans and other enemies alike.
The screenshots give us the first look into Sony’s PlayStation 5 and games that run on it. On the other hand, Microsoft has revealed a lot compared to Sony on their upcoming Xbox Series X console. We are also tuned to watch the first gameplay footage of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla by Ubisoft, who are going to show video gameplay of the game running on the Xbox Series X.
