How to Beat

The best way to defeat Jarnsaxa is to have a long-ranged weapon and using Dark equipment on her as this is her weakness. In her first form, Jarnsaxa is pretty quick to move around and does not shy away from following you while producing her devastating lightning attacks.

One of the attacks is where she sends forth a lightning attack straight in front of her with her staff. But this is the least of your worries as she also mixes this attack by sending out lightning orbs at you which follow you for a bit until they explore. While the first attack can be dodged by rolling to either side, the orbs will have you running away until you are out of their radius.

Your strategy in this phase is to attack her from a distance or sneak up behind her during her attacks to counter a few hits of your own. To make things easier on yourself for the second phase of the battle, make sure you can at least bring her health down to half, this is because the second phase is where she shapeshifts to a giant thunderstorm and has more powerful attacks.

When you see Jarnsaxa transform into a giant thunderstorm, she will produce the same attack where she sends a lightning attack forward at your location, but will also follow you around with a ring of damage around her. Keeping your distance and firing away with a bow will be the safest way to deal damage. The boss fight will take some time until you deplete all of Jarnsaxa’s health, but since she is the final giant boss, you should expect a good long fight.
