This guide will show you where you can find Nickel Ore in Subnautica Below Zero. While you may not need a lot of Nickel Ore to craft the items like the Seatruck vehicle, Prawn Suit, and other various important upgrades.
The game has a few areas that you can explore to find Nickel Ore, where one region may be easier than the other depending on the dangers that lurk underwater.
Where to Find Nickel Ore in Subnautica Belo Zero
There are four areas where you find Nickel Ore:
- Deep Lilypads Cave
- Crytsal Caves
- Lilypads Crevice
- Fabricator Caverns
You can go to either of the locations mentioned above, but it will be much easier if you look for Nickel Ore in the Lilypads biome. From the drop pod, you need to go between the south and southeast direction, and 1080 meters from the drop pod. You can speed this up by traversing using a Seatruck.
This biome does have squidsharks roaming around, which is especially dangerous when you are openly swimming to find Nickel Ore.
When you reach about 1080m from the drop pod, you will find underwater cave systems that you can swim to or use the Seatruck to go in. Nickel Ore can spawn on the cave walls, but you can easily find them by using the Mineral Detector. There will be more Nickel Ore in the cave system if you head north, use the detector and collect as many ores as you can.
As mentioned before, the biggest danger here is the squidsharks. So keep an eye out on them along with your oxygen so it doesn’t run out and have you stranded in the cave
