Xbox Boss Phil Spencer wants to bring Xbox Game Pass to every device possible where consumers want to play game. Phil made this statement in an interview with GeekWire where he was discussing the future of Microsoft Gaming led by xCloud streaming service.
We already know that Microsoft wants to bring its Xbox Game Pass to Nintendo Switch as it was announced some time ago that Microsoft might bring the service to Nintendo’s flagship console. However, Phil Spencer’s words tell us that Microsoft does not plan to stop at just Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft is already planning to unveil its extension of Xbox Live service on iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch later at the Game Developers Conference. It is only natural for them to bring additional support to gamers and the best way for this is to bring the Xbox Game Pass to all compatible devices.
Phil’s official words on this were
We want to bring Game Pass to any device that somebody wants to play on. Not just because it’s our business, but really because the business model allows for people to consume and find games that they wouldn’t have played in any other space.
We know that Xbox Game Pass is one of the best video game service at this point where players can pay a small amount and get a yearly pass to a large ever-growing library of video games. Nearly all Xbox One exclusives were available on Game Pass on Day One and players had access to them without paying any additional amount.
Microsoft is adding more titles to the Xbox Game Pass every month making it one of the biggest gaming libraries ever. Players have access to Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the original Xbox titles with this service for a decent yearly fee. Players can use the same Xbox Game Pass on both Microsoft Windows and Xbox One consoles.
