Microsoft has announced the Xbox Games with Gold for August 2019 and it includes two of the biggest console exclusives of this generation. Gold members will be able to play Gears of War 4 and Forza Motorsport 6 on their Xbox One console next month. Along with these titles, the Xbox 360 owners will be able to play Torchlight and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
Xbox One also supports both Xbox 360 titles with Backwards Compatibility program. Xbox is going big this month because all Gold subscribers will be able to play Gears of War 4 for free this month. While I highly doubt that any Xbox One fan would have skipped playing Gears of War 4 until now however if, for some reason, you were not able to play this amazing start to a new saga, now is your chance.
The timing is even better because the next title in the franchise Gears 5 is arriving in September 2019. Players who want to play Gears 5 can play Gears of War 4 and get ready for Gears 5 arriving next month. Even if you have played it before, you can play it again, like I am these days, just to get back in the mood before the next title arrives with a further continuation of the epic story where the previous title ended.
The second title to arrive next with Gold is Forza Motorsport 6 which is the second Forza Motorsport title on the Xbox One console. This is an excellent title for someone who loves racing however I cannot guarantee if this title will be great for you if you are an arcade racer. Forza Motorsport is a racing simulation at its core and a very good one as well. I consider it the best Forza Motorsport title so far because 5 lacked in content and 7 was just buggy.
Coming to Xbox 360 titles, the first one is Torchlight which is basically a dungeon crawler from the developers of Diablo and Fate. The game offers a decent variety of classes from which you can choose your hero and then you can embark on an epic journey through randomized dungeons as you slay thousands of monsters and level up. I will highly recommend this amazing title.
The last title needs no introduction. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was released in the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation and it was one of the best titles in the franchise. You play as Gabriel who must destroy the three factions of the Lords of Shadow and try to bring back balance to the world which has been ravaged by the evil Lords. Both the Xbox 360 titles are bound to keep you busy for hours.
Time is running out for the Games with Gold for July 2019. Add them to your library if you have not added them until now before they are gone forever. The timestamps for all these games for August 2019 will be:
