Xbox One November 2018 Update Rolling Out Today – Keyboard Mouse Support, Minor UI Tweaks and More

Xbox One update for the month of November 2018 will roll out today. The update will bring in announced features at XO18. Noticeably, keyboard and mouse support will be added to games, Xbox Skill updates, new Amazon Music app and improved search to find your games.

Keyboard and Mouse Support

Microsoft announced during the X018 event that much-awaited mouse and keyboard support is coming to Xbox One next week and the first titles to support this feature will be Fortnite and Warframe.

There will also be other games to support Keyboard and Mouse support. Bomber Crew, Deep Rock Galactic, Strange Brigade, Vermintide 2, War Thunder and X-Morph Defense adding support in November, and Children of Morta, DayZ, Minion Master, Moonlighter, Vigor, Warface, and Wargroove adding support in the future.

Xbox Skill For Cortona and Alexa Updates

Xbox skill for Cortona and Alexa was launched last month only in US. It allowed gamers to get more actions done using their voice. Based on the fan feedback, the November update rolls with first set of updates.

Alexa Beta for UK (EN-GB)

As started first in US, the feature is now available for Xbox users of UK. There is also addition of English voice recognition. To get started with Alexa, all you need to say is, ‘Alexa, Open Xbox’.

Cortona Improvements

Cortona has improved since it was introduced. Now, Cortona can pair your Xbox with any near by device using Xbox Skill for Cortona. Cortona will automatically discover and pair your Xbox with mobile or speakers nearby on your command.

New Commands Added

Cortona and Alexa Skills are getting additional commands in November 2018 Xbox update. Based on the fan feedbak, you can now close a game or app by saying ‘Quit (game or app name)’.

Amazon Music App on Xbox One

Amazon Music app is launching on November 14, 2018 on Xbox One, first in US. The app availability to other countries will be added soon. The app allows over 50 million songs of Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers to now listen on Xbox One.

Search Expansion

Search expansion will now include results from Xbox Assist and games you have “Ready to Install” or currently own as part of your memberships, including Xbox Game Pass and EA Access. This makes it easier than ever to find the game you are looking for and start playing.
