Friendship Guide – Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Our Yakuza: Like a Dragon Friendship Guide details everything that you need to know about maintaining and increasing friendship bonds in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Importance of Friendship Bonds in Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Your party members are like your family in Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the more you take care of them, the stronger your bond becomes and more useful they become to you as well. However, apart from this, there are different other aspects of the game that are unlocked for you only with higher friendship bonds as well. These include certain jobs that require a certain friendship level with particular characters.

Reaching maximum XP with your party members will ensure that they receive the maximum XP at the end of each battle as well. Once you’ve reached the maximum bonding level, all party members will receive maximum XP even if they are not currently active in your party for that particular battle. In addition, members with higher friendship bond levels will also throw in a few punches on your enemies as follow-up attacks.

Increasing Friendship Bond Levels in Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Increasing your friendship bond level is critical in the game but it is also not that hard. There are different ways by which you can increase the friendship levels with your party members. The very first is obviously by taking them into fights and battles with you. The more you take your party members in battle with you, the more they will respond and become friendly with you. This is one of the easiest methods to increase your bond with your party members. Also, make sure that you chat with your party members every time a dialogue bubble pops up.

Apart from battles, many of the side-activities in the game are a great way to increase your friendship level with your party members. You can visit and eat at different restaurants which will not only increase your bonding levels but also fill MP and HP levels of all of your party. You can also visit Hostess Clubs with your party to eat and interact with different hostesses to keep your party entertained. Apart from this, any other side-activity is also a good means to increase your bonding levels while playing some fun little games.

Managing Exceptions

All party members comply with the details above except Eri who joins your party only after you start the Management mini game. She is also the only party member who is not directly involved in any of the main story missions so you can only increase her bonding level by reaching higher milestones in the Management mini game. Keep playing it and it will continue to increase your bond with her.

Leveling Up a Member’s Bond

The final step to increase a party member’s friendship bond level is to have a chat with them over a drink at the Survive Bar. You will engage in a chat with them where they will open to you regarding their past and personal things. These are called Drink Link Conversations, and these are vital. When you see a dialogue bubble with a heart icon on it, the time has come for a chat with that particular party member to increase their friendship bond level.

This is everything that you need to know about increasing your bonding levels with your party members. If you need more help with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, you can check out the guides below.
