EA and Dice have released a new trailer for Battlefield V called Battlefield V: Devastation of Rotterdam. The trailer was shown at Gamescom 2018 which is a European video gaming convention that concluded in Cologne, Germany. Battlefield V is set to be released on October 19, 2018.
The trailer of Devastation of Rotterdam gives everyone a glimpse of almost everything that can be expected in a battle situation of the game. Based on real events, the plot recreates the bombing of Rotterdam that happened in 1940, which led the Dutch to surrender to the Germans. In the trailer, a bombed out city of Rotterdam can be seen with tanks and explosions, overhead fighter planes bombing different locations and gunfire everywhere in a chaotic environment.
The trailer video also featured the battle royale mode that will be coming in Battlefield V. The battle royale mode features a PvP format in the game where the last man standing will be the victor. Typical to battle royale games, a circle of fire can be seen in the trailer that encircles players and gets smaller and smaller reducing the battle area as the game progresses. Battle royale is a mode that has been very popular recently thanks to games like PlayerUnknown’s Battleground and Fortnite.
Other than the battle royale aspect of the game, Battlefield V also highlighted the importance of working as a team that players will have to implement in the gameplay to achieve success in the game. Rewards will also be handed to players that play as a team.
Before the Gamescome trailer of Devastation of Rotterdam, Battlefield V showcased the trailer of the campaign story mode back in the Xbox Keynote event this year.
