Days Gone will be 30 hours long which include the cutscenes throughout the game. This is according to Gamereactor’s report that Sony Bend, the developers behind Days Gone, have mentioned that Days Gone will take around 30 hours to complete.
Days Gone is due in April and Sony is releasing new and new information about the upcoming title. They also had a press tour which will soon reveal more information about the title. If the developers are mentioning the length of the title to be around 30 hours, we can be certain that the average player will take around 35-40 hours to complete.
Developers already know everything about the title and players will take their sweet time exploring as well. Not everyone will be aiming to complete the title as soon as possible. It is also a possibility that the final product sometimes tends to be a little longer or a little shorter than the stipulated time.
Days Gone is an open-world exploration title and we are sure that most of the players will stretch this time way more when compared to linear story video games. Such games give players freedom to focus on the exploration before completing the main story. However, some players also tend to complete the main story first and then focus on exploration.
This time is mostly just a rough estimate based on developers own playthrough and expected time they have set for each sequence. For a game like Days Gone, which offers open world for players to explore, 30 hours for main story is more than enough. The game offers way more content apart from the main story as well if players want to stretch this time limit.
Days Gone is an upcoming open-world survival title launching in April, 2019 exclusively on PS4. If you want to see more on Days Gone, check out the Days Gone trailer which shows us a little bit of Daecon’s tragic past or what to expect from the open world of Days Gone.
