A game director at NetherRealm has claimed that the story mode of the upcoming game Mortal Kombat 11 will be around 8 hours long. The length of the gameplay is quite long considering that it is a fighting, and most titles in this genre have relatively short story modes.
Studio Director at NetherRealm Dominic Cianciolo had something to say about the length of the story mode gameplay. in an interview to GameReactor, Cianciolo said that he was careful when it came to storyline as he wants every character to get their turn in the spotlight.
Cianciolo noted that according to their data, one of the most popular ways for players to access and experience is the Mortal Kombat story mode.
If you still think that the story mode of Mortal Kombat 11 is less, rest assured that there will be more additional content coming after the launch of the game. Other than multiplayer. There are many other different game modes, plenty of cosmetic gear for players to unlock and customize their characters with.
Cianciolo was also asked about the petition to bring in Scooby Doo character Shaggy. To which he confirmed by saying that it’s a shame that the character was rejected, however other guest appearances are planned, though he cannot say anything about them at the moment.
As for the post launch features, NetherRealm boss Shaun Himmerick confirmed that the studio is planning to support the creation “well after launch” and that the post launch features are “pretty awesome”. These features can be expected to rolled out in the first couple of months after release.
