New Gears of War Novel Announced, Set Between Gears of War 4 and 5

A new Gears of War novel has been announced and it will be set between Gears of War 4 and the upcoming Gears 5. The novel will be called Gears of War: Ascendance and it will focus on the events leading to the fifth title coming later this year.

This was announced by the official Gears of War account on Twitter where they stated that the novel will start right where Gears of War 4 ended and will lead all the way to the beginning of Gears 5. Fans of the series will be delighted to get some more action before the next title arrives.

The novel Gears of War: Ascendance will be written by New York Times bestselling author Jason M. Hough. The novel will be published by Titan Books who already have a long list of video game novels under their belt such as God of War, Halo and Mass Effect. Just like Gear 5, there is no confirmed release date for the novel. Since the novel is set between Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, we can be sure that the novel will be released before Gears 5 so that players can have enough time to catch up on the story and then jump right in Gears 5 when it comes out. Keeping these facts in mind, we can be sure that the novel will be released before Fall 2019.

The Coalition took a brand new direction with Gears of War 4 and the title did seem a little slow at the start but it quickly picked up the pace and ended up with a lot of unanswered questions.
