One of the titles that you can check out on Oculus Quest is Star Wars’ VR game called Vader Immortal. A new gameplay trailer of the video was just released showcasing what the game is going to be like in virtual reality
Set in the universe of Star Wars, the VR game will also be available to Rift and Rift S owners as revealed at Star Wars Celebration. Take a look at the gameplay trailer below:
Looking at the gameplay it is quite clear that developer ILMxLAB has made this into a fully interactive title rather than a simple VR movie. Players can expect the use of tools and to climb the side of the citadel. You play as a smuggler operating near Mustafar, the planet on which Vader has set up his home in a giant fortress. At the beginning of the episode, the Sith Lord captures you and tasks you will a mission.
You will get to explore the base, eventually finding a lightsaber for your battle encounters. The episode will feature 45 minutes to an hour of gameplay. There is also a standalone mode called lightsaber Dojo where you will be able to wield the legendary weapon in open ended play.
The upcoming episodic VR game will include voice acting talents of comedian Maya Rudolph, who will be the players main companion in the game. Writer and executive producer for the game David S. Goyer had some say on the voice actor.
We needed somebody for this role that could create a unique character using their improvisation and performance skills. Maya truly was the first person we thought of, right from the very beginning, and her contributions and sense of humor have guided ZOE3 every step of the way.”
Vader Immortal is set to release later this year on both the upcoming Oculus Quest headset as well as the Oculus Rift devices. No price or a release date have been confirmed yet so far.
