Shakedown: Hawaii finally has a release date as confirmed by developer Vblank Entertainment. The game is set to launch on May 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC. PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch.
Initially planned for an April 2017 release, the game received a trailer last year in PAX East. The game will pick up 30 years after the events of Retro City Rampage, where the game’s protagonist will now be featured as a big time CEO, rather than being a crook in the previous game.
Vblank also released a trailer couple of weeks ago showcasing the gameplay and what to expect. Take a look at the overview trailer below:
If you are unaware, Shakedown: Hawaii is a top down action in an open world. There is a story behind the game, however the focus is all about wreaking havoc. Players will indulge in property acquisition, shakedowns, sabotage and market manipulation. On the ground there are lots to cover, with a new map that incorporates city, suburbs, beaches, farms, parks and even jungle. Shakedown: Hawaii is supposedly four times larger than the previous game.
The game is all about weapons and vehicles, as mayhem is the main focus of the game. with a variety of weapons and vehicles at your disposal, you can run the city as you please.
The game will sell for $19.99, and will come for consoles and PC. The PlayStation Vita version of the game will release physically with pre-orders set to go live on May 3. A Nintendo 3DS version is also in development, and is set to come sometime later. Vblank promises that it will support both the original 3DS and the new variant of the console.
