Turn10 is celebrating IndyCar with a free IndyCar themed update for Forza Motorsport 7. Since May is home to Indianapolis 500, this month’s theme for Forza Motorsport 7 update is also IndyCar. Turn10 is celebrating the biggest races in the world with a free IndyCar update which brings some of the best IndyCar race cars to the game along with a special Indy-themed Bounty Hunter competition.
The new update is also bringing additional features to Forza Race Regulations(FRR) as part of Turn 10’s continuous effort to improve online racing in Forza Motorsport 7. Along with this, the update is also bringing some much-needed fixes and improvements. The free car pack includes 5 IndyCars along with the official Indy Pace Car.
The showstopper of May 2019 update is the 2019 Dallara DW12 with Universal Aero Kit. This car has been in the Indy since 2012 but the version coming to Forza Motorsport 7 is fitted with the Universal Aero Kit which is fitted to the car since 2018 and is currently in use. It features improved downforce by eliminating the airbox and rear-wheel guards.
The models featured in May update’s IndyCar Spotlight Car Collection are:
- 2019 Honda #15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Dallara – Driven by Graham Rahal and powered by Honda
- 2019 Honda #9 Chip Ganassi Racing Dallara – Driven by Scott Dixon and powered by Honda
- 2019 Chevrolet #2 Team Penske Dallara – Driven by Josef Newgarden and powered by Chevrolet
- 2019 Chevrolet #22 Team Penske Dallara – Driven by Simor Pagenaud and powered by Chevrolet
Along with these modern IndyCar race cars, we also have a classic IndyCar race car in the lineup as well. The 1969 Ford Brawner Hawk III features the special 50th anniversary livery celebrating the Andretti’s historic win with this car.
The final car arriving in the May 2019 update is the official 2018 Corvette ZR1 Pace Car which has been the official Pace Car for the series for three years in a row. The latest ZR1 Pace car is the 2018 Corvette which has 650 horsepower under the hood coupled with magnetic ride control and tons of features.
Continuing with the IndyCar celebrations, the new update is bringing a special competition to the game called IndyCar Bounty Hunter. Players will be able to jump in their favorite 2019 IndyCar on the Brickyard Speedway and try to beat the lap times of Ten real-life IndyCar drivers and owners to earn exclusive rewards. The competition will continue the entire month of May until June 5 so hurry up because time is literally running out to win some of the best cars along with cash rewards.
May 2019’s update will also bring some Ghosting and Private Lobbies updates to the game. Forza Race Regulations are currently in beta and the new update will bring additional features to FRR to make it more functional. With the new update, all players who are lapped will remain ghosted so that they do not grief the pack leaders.
Apart from this, players can also enable FRR rule-set in private lobbies now giving them additional control in private lobbies on how to set the races. At this point, players can turn the entire feature on or off. A future update might give players the additional option to toggle specific features of FRR on or off.
