A new season of Rainbow Six: Siege is launching soon. Operation Phantom Sight is just like any other season as it comes with two new operators and a new map in the game. Ubisoft has now released teaser videos of both the new operators and has detailed that an existing map has been reworked. So here is everything we know so far about Operation Phantom sight, the new upcoming season of Rainbow Six: Siege.
Operation Phantom Sight Release Date
Typically a season of Rainbow Six: Siege comes every three months. As Operation Burnt Horizon is coming to an end, the new update will bring us Operation Phantom Sky as the second DLC content of Year 4
Operation Phantom Sight will release early June as planned. A full reveal of the season will be shown at the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League Finals tomorrow May 19.
Phantom Sight Defender – Warden
Collin “Warden” McKinley is the new defender in this season. A new teaser was also released by Ubisoft that teased a little bit of his ability in the game. Warden is a 30 year veteran of the US Secret Service, who admittedly looks like some version of James Bond himself.
Hailing from the state of Kentucky, McKinley rose through the ranks of the Marines before he found his calling for close-protection detail in the Secret Service. He demonstrated his skills distinctly when he led the Secretary of State to safety, during an attack where hostiles outmaneuvered all prior planning.
The events of that day gave him the idea for his gadget’s prototype, the Glance Smart Glasses. They reflect the nature of his natural talent, to see what most cannot in order to gain the upper hand in any given situation. He would be just as talented without them, but with them, there’s nothing he can’t tackle.
His tendency to follow his gut and his unshakeable confidence has proved that he is in a league of his own. It’s no wonder that he was recommended by high-ranking government officials. Now that he is part of the team, he faces a new challenge: to determine if his skillset and iron will remain unparalleled when faced with specialists of his own caliber.
Phantom Sight Attacker – Nøkk
Nøkk is the new defender coming in this season as a ghostly stealth-focused Operation under Denmark’s Jaeger Corps elite special operations force. This mystery undercover agent showcases a form of paranormal cloaking device in the teaser.
Nøkk has been a mystery for quite some time. There is very little that anyone outside Rainbow knows about her. For an accomplished undercover agent whose work remains mostly unrecorded, it is amazing that she has managed to hold onto who she is at her core.
Focused and driven, she uses her special operations training to infiltrate, gather intel and defeat her opponents. As a member of the Jægerkorpset, she strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who goes up against her.
On top of that, she harnesses a spirit of loyalty and leads by example to elevate the people she works with. Unlike the general population, her fellow Operators know who she is and welcome her into the fold. The potential scandal her family might face is of little importance to them; she’s one of the best in her field, and they wouldn’t betray her even if it came to that.
Her gadget is just the icing on the cake for an already dangerous operative. The HEL, which she worked on to improve with specialist Grace “Dokkaebi” Nam, makes Nøkk nothing short of a ghost and leaves her opponents looking over their shoulders.
Phantom Sight Map – Kafe Dostoyevsky Rework
Typically a new map is also included in a new season, however, Ubisoft has opted to rework one of its classic maps Kafe Dostoyevsky. The map has been worked with major facelifts upon the existing location and will come with similar changes as Hereford Base was treated within Operation Grim Sky.
As teased in the reveal of the new season, Kafe will now have an expanded top floor and altered skylight. This pairs with an altered first-floor staircase in the restaurant, improving angles around critical chokepoints. In addition, we are also expecting new and relocated objectives, with the aim for a more enhanced competitive gameplay experience.
Other Changes
Ubisoft is also going to be added lots of new changes in the update that launches with Operation Phantom Sight. Year 4 is primarily slated to bring major Operator overhauls, currently for the first half of this year.
Glaz will undergo modifications, as his new thermal scope will only stay active when he is standing still in the smoke. This prevents the more aggressive playstyle regularly used with Glaz, who is overpowered due to his high impact rifle.
Meanwhile, other small changes are being applied to secondary gadgets including the Deployable Shield, which will now be designed to full expand across doorways with bulletproof glass. Ubisoft has also teased an all-new Proximity Alarm, though it is unclear how they could be used or when they will be available.
