Cuphead Expansion ‘The Delicious Last Course’ Pushed to 2020

Studio MDHR has announced that the upcoming expansion for Cuphead, The Delicious Last Course, has been delayed and it will be released in 2020. Along with the announcement, however, the developer shared a brand new video from the expansion which shows two brand new bosses in action. This is the first time that we see the new character Ms. Chalice in action as well.

The developer made the announcement on their official Twitter account and they have mainly described the main reason behind the delay as they do not want to overburden their staff. It is natural that developing a game could take its toll on the developers because video game development is not an easy job. Releasing a perfectly stable and bug-free video game can take a long time.

In recent days, we have seen that developers who tend to push their developers hard to reach the deadlines often end up with releasing half-baked games that are full of bugs and sometimes even lack in content. The biggest example of this is Anthem which suffered and is now technically dead. The developers of Anthem are still trying to fix the game and make it stable however we all know that players are not coming back to Anthem now.

Check out the latest short teaser trailer released by Studio MDHR showing some gameplay from the upcoming expansion.

I appreciate Studio MDHR taking it seriously and wants to delay the expansion until next year so as to give the team proper time to work on the game. Taking some more time and releasing the game bug-free is much better than following strict deadlines and in the end delivering a game that is full of bugs and totally ruins the gameplay.

Check out the original announcement trailer for the DLC below which introduces us to the new characters coming in the expansion. Earlier, we also got to know that Studio MDHR has epic plans for its next project.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is slated to release in 2020 on all platforms.
