In addition to the Black Powder Stashes, players will also find Trading companies that have started to stockpile Gunpowder and Stronghold Kegs, allowing crew a place to offload their stuff. Gunpowder and Stronghold Kegs can be handed to the Trading Companies in return for rewards and XP boosts.

In Black Powder, players will be tasked in finding explosive barrels around the world and then hand them over to the Trading Companies, who are stockpiling these barrels for some reason. Trading Companies are also looking to get Mermaid Gems, so its best to collect them as well.

The LTM also introduces the new Mercenary Commendations, rewarding additional doubloons and new titles that include the Inevitable Reaper Flag and sails, and the scorpion-themed Mercenary Figurehead. These will be rewarded to anyone that completes the voyages.

The update also brings new puzzles for the existing Tell Tale missions, and new behavior patterns to make each megalodon type of shark more distinctive. There are also new crew notifications, new interactive hatches on the ships, and chances that bait can be found by digging in the world.

Black Powder Stash is a month-long running LTM that will end on August 14 next month. Black Powder Stashes will conclude when Sea of Thieves adds another update next month. The executive producer of the game Joe Neate has said that the studio will now adopt a monthly content update pattern from now on that will bring in new limited-time events, new Tell Tales, new Area features and other content additions alongside bug fixes and improvements.
