Gamescom 2019 is around the corner and there is a lot of speculation around the companies that are going to attend the gaming event. The event is held in Cologne, Germany, and we already have confirmation regarding some of the big names that will be showcasing their games on day one.
Geoff Keighley is changing things a bit this year. There will be a pre-show announcement live stream called Opening Night Live featuring big names such as Square Enix, Google Stadia, Epic Games and more. Keighley has promised that the show will have plenty of world premiere content and new announcements so stay tuned for more information regarding Opening Night Live.
The confirmation of Sony is a big one. The company was not at E3 2019 this year which means that this is going to be the first event at which Sony makes an appearance. While we might have bigger announcements at PlayStation Xperience later this year, you can expect to get a closer look at Death Stranding. We might even get some new juicy details about the PS5.
Microsoft is taking things very seriously and not only is it one of the companies attending Gamescom 2019, but it also has 200 booths where fans can check out Minecraft Dungeons and Gears 5’s Horde Mode. People at the event will be able to check out Project xCloud as well. Xbox Game Studios will be at the event so expect to hear more about Gears 5, Sea of Thieves and maybe Halo Infinite.
CDPR is also coming to the event and all the people in attendance will be able to check out the new Cyberpunk 2077 demo. They will not be able to play it but they will have the chance to watch the devs play it.
Bungie will most likely showoff content for the upcoming Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion. That should be interesting keeping in mind that the expansion has been delayed. We might get new details regarding how the accounts will be migrated to Steam in the upcoming weeks.
Let us know what you think about all these companies attending Gamescom 2019 and which game you are most excited about.
