Below we have listed how you can use various Power Sources to power your base and how you can use Wiring Loom to connect them together in order to keep your base powered up and running.

Sources of Power

The No Man’s Sky Beyond update has seen the addition of two new power sources that you can have to power your base. These include the Solar Panels and the Biofuel Reactor.

The Solar Panels are your best bet in efficiently powering your base as it requires only sunlight and can be complemented with Batteries to store power for the night. The other power source is the Biofuel Reactor that requires you to feed it with Condensed Carbon to keep it running. The Biofuel reactor is highly inefficient at this stage, so you should stick with the Solar Panels and Batteries.

How to Power Your Base

With your preferred Power Source in hand, you now have to link them to your base to transfer power to them. This can be done by attaching wires from your source to your base.

If you are looking to buy some Wiring Loom, you can do so by the terminal in Space Stations. Learning to craft wires comes to you naturally if you research the Biofuel generator. You can also research for Switches and Power Transformers at the Construction Research terminal.

Connect the wire and wait for the green signal which will show you the correct flow of power from the source to the base. If you don’t see a green light, this probably means that you have missed something, or have some gap in the wiring. Make sure you go around and have everything in order to have the power flow to the base.

If you are looking to power Prefab Rooms, they do not need to ne internally connected with wires to the outlets, as it comes with one external outlet that powers everything inside it. This will make things easier for you.
