The game is actually very near to launch than expected and it looks amazing. Looks like all the hard work by developers has finally paid off and we are getting a stellar shooter for PS-VR.
In this article, we have searched the internet and collected everything that you need to know about this exciting shooter coming soon. You can start by checking out the official trailer of Firewall Zero Hour below.
Everything You Need to Know about Firewall Zero Hour
Firewall Zero Hour is a 4v4 team-based tactical shooter that is only playable in VR. Although the game is limited to VR and it features exceptional game mechanics and the game looks amazing. The gameplay is smooth and considering it is an online game, it needs to be smooth to ensure competitive gameplay as well.
Firewall Zero Hour has been developed with the idea of a VR shooter that anyone can pick and play to have fun. The developers have been revealing more and more information about the game via a series of videos recently, which is certainly making us very excited to play the game finally when it comes out.
Gameplay
The developers of the game are calling the game a complete VR Immersion because wearing the headset and playing with the PlayStation Aim Controller will provide a very immersive experience with the game. This is something that very few shooters have been able to deliver and Firewall Zero Hour seems to be very good at delivering such an immersive shooter experience. You can check out the Official VR Immersion trailer below.
The 4v4 action pits two teams of players playing in VR against each other. One team is defenders while the other team is playing as attackers. Both teams must work together in order to win as you cannot expect to win by playing alone in a co-op game. The gameplay focuses heavily on team tactics as one team has to steal sensitive information while the other team has to defend the information from being stolen.
The game requires a fair bit of strategy as well as attackers use various tactics and skills to get to the information and defenders use their own set of unique skills and tactics. Both sides are equipped with a multitude of equipment as well, which makes the gameplay even more interesting. Players will be able to use the environment to devise a strategy best suited to their side.
Each map has a different layout and provides different opportunities for both attackers and defenders to play with their approach. Each round will be unique, as both teams will try new tactics to win. This makes every round unpredictable and full of surprises for both teams. At the start, the game comes with nine different maps.
It is not known at this point whether the game will receive future DLC packs or new maps via free updates but the developers have confirmed that the game will receive some bonus content drops in the future so we are excited to see what will come in them.
Just like any other team-based co-op game, Communication will be vital for players in Firewall Zero Hour as well. Players will need to communicate with each other about sharing enemy locations, asking for help, or pointing out important updates regarding the game map. Teams with more efficient communication will eventually make it to the top and teams will little or no communication will suffer severely in the game.
Once the match is over, players will earn XP and in-game currency called Crypto. Earning XP will level up the players, which will give them access to better gear, equipment, and contractors. Leveling up is important because each time the player levels up, he will unlock better skills, operators, and gear. Without leveling up, the players will not be able to access high-tier items and contractors.
Contractors
In-game characters are called Contractors and each contractor is unique. They come with two skills each out of which one skill is fixed while the other one can be changed at will. You can try out multiple contractors to see the best ones, which suit your game style. You can switch the inter-changeable skills with better ones when you level up enough and unlock more skills.
Each contractor also has special equipment, which is unique to him or her. They will use their equipment in fights in various ways, which can change the course of each round. These skills are the main thing that set the contractors apart. These skills range from Raha’s Scout skill which allows her to detect incoming enemies or Okoro which can take less damage because of his Heavy Duty skill.
Every attacker or defender contractor will come with these skills and we recommend that you try them all in order to find the best one for yourself. You can switch out gear and skills to make them more suitable for a specific role as you unlock more skills as you level up. You will also unlock better gear when you level up for each contractor. The game gives you complete freedom to customize the character.
Graphics
Visually the game looks amazing. It is completely played in VR so special attention has been given to give a very good visual experience. Currently, most of the games in VR are not very good to look at because of PS4’s graphical limits but Firewall Zero Hour looks like it going to be a good game when it comes to visuals.
The frames do not appear to drop and the gameplay looks smooth. The character design looks good as well as the maps look very visually appealing. Special attention has been given to details such as explosions, particles, and movements. Explosions are huge and fiery. Gun design is decent and they appear to be real.
The effect of gunfights leaves an impact on the environment with bullet marks and destructive props everywhere. This adds to the visual appeal of the game making it good to look at. Dark places are properly dark and lighting does a very good job of making the environments look as real as possible. Smoke effects are well-detailed as well for a VR game.
Sound
To complete the VR immersion experience, special work has been done on sound as well. You will hear the sound coming from the direction it is coming from to give you a more immersive feel. For example, if a player is on your right side and he wants you to come to help him, he will call you out from the right side and you will hear the sound from your right side so that you instantly know where he is located.
Similarly, if someone behind you needs to be revived, you will hear the sound coming from your back so you can quickly go back and revive the player without looking around or checking your map to find their location. You will also be able to hear the footsteps of players in clear detail which will allow you to be aware of your surroundings.
