Bigben and Eko Software have announced that the first closed beta phase for Rugby 20 has kicked off and players can experience the game right now. The first phase of closed beta will run from Thursday, September 12, 2019, until October 17, 2019. During this phase, players can play the game and send their feedback to the developers.
The closed beta is available for all players who pre-order the game on PS4 and Xbox One. There are more closed betas planned for Rugby 20 as well. The second closed beta will start right when the first one finished on October 17, 2019, and will end in early November. The details of the third beta phase will be announced by the developers later. All feedback about the beta sessions can be communicated to the developers via the game’s official Facebook page.
Eko Software has been working on Rugby 20 for two years and now they have finally unveiled the title. It is available for all players who pre-order the game and they can jump in right now to help out the developers to fine-tune the final shape of the game for an early 2020 release. Rugby 20 is a simulation game and will have tight controls developed with various professionals.

The main goal for the game was to allow the players to experience all the aspects that make up modern rugby such as tactical changes during matches, attacking pods, passing after contact and set plays. The international competition is right around the corner so Rugby fans will find the game full of their favorite Rugby essential elements. The game features a reworked AI offering a more realistic approach to Rugby.
It allows for true-to-life physical and tactical clashes allowing players to have the best Rugby experience on consoles. Motion-captured animations and improved player models provide a better game experience and the gameplay also benefits from various new features such as the multiple set-play options during different passages of play.
The closed beta for Rugby 20 has the following content available at this point:
- 20 national teams from countries
- An International Tournament mode
- A Quick Match mode, versus the AI or local PvP
- An Online mode for playing against a friend or an opponent via matchmaking
Rugby 20 is slated for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 23, 2020.
