Below we have detailed how to farm Eridium in Borderlands 3

How to Farm Eridium

Eridium makes a return from the original Borderlands series, and it comes as nothing new for the fans of Borderlands. Having said that, the new game comes with new ways to collect them and to use them. Which is why it will leave everyone curious to get their hands on more of this rare material.

There are a few ways you can start farming Eridium, and that includes completing Challenges and killing special types of enemies that carry this material. There are many challenges that you can complete in the game. Many of these challenges reward you with Eridium after the successful completion of such challenge. You can check out such challenges from the map.

Another way to get more Eridium is to kill special enemies. These enemies are fairly stronger than your basic goons and dish out a more challenging experience in combat with more firepower and weapons. These enemies will be highlighted in purple, indicating that they have Eridium. Once you see such an enemy, you should engage and take them down for your Eridium loot.

Other ways include exploring and completing side missions. There are purple crystals scattered all around the open world of Pandora. Exploring will almost always lead you to a location where you will spot these purple crystals sprouting from underneath the ground. Just go and collect them whenever you see one. But there is a catch here, you have to complete the first Vault to start farming this crystal found in the wild.

The Vault will give you the artifact that is needed to destroy these crystals to farm them. If you don’t do this, you will not be able to destroy the crystals, which wont help you farm them.

Since Eridium is a rare material that most players will seek in the gameplay, the game offers it as a reward tied to side missions as well. You can complete side missions to get more of the Eridium, which is also a neat way to get that little extra in your inventory.

What To Do With Eridium

As mentioned above, Eridium is a type of in-game currency that allows you to purchase cosmetic items and weapons. When you have enough Eridium in your inventory, you can trade it to buy cosmetic items that Crazy Earl will be selling. These include various types of items to put up in your room or cosmetic items for your character.

The other thing you can do is to buy weapons. This can also be done by purchasing them from the vending machines that Crazy Earl has setup. Though it is not wise to purchase weapons when the game feeds you with so many newer and better weapons all the time, and that you will eventually get for free if you just play the game. But to each his own, so you can decide whatever you want to do with your Eridium.
