Lucas Pope is known for creating and developing critically acclaimed games like Papers, Please, and Return of the Obra Dinn. The latter has received many positive reviews, with a 10/10 score on Steam.
If you are not aware of what the game is about, Lucas Pope has developed the game in a way that it features no color but black and white visuals. The visual arts of the game have been set to be minimalistic. For example, you can see stars in the night, but really they are just dots in the vast black sky. The minimal design provides a very ominous feeling that gets you more intrigued.
The plot is set in 1807 and the Obra Dinn is the name of the ghost ship in the game that has docked back to port with all of its crew dead. You are an insurance adjuster in the game and as a player, your task is to go abroad and work out how the crew’s demise so that the families of the victims can receive their owed salaries.
The protagonist in the game will have to relive the flashbacks and connect the dots as to what really happened in the ship. You have to jot down clues, names of the sailors on board, events that have taken place on the ship, and then figure out the demise of the ship and the crew. It is a really interesting game that will have you intrigued with every clue and flashback you see.
