Ghost Recon Breakpoint Skills Guide – Choosing Classes, Skill Trees

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Skills Guide

In this Ghost Recon Breakpoint Skills Guide, we will guide you on the classes and skills system of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. If you played the previous title in the franchise, you would remember that Ghost Recon Wildlands introduced player skills that allowed them to purchase numerous skills that really made the game easier. Breakpoint follows the same pattern and mixes many new skills and also brings a brand new class system into the mix.

With the new class system, players can easily choose their own unique role on the battlefield and then continue to build their character on the set role according to their own choice. It might be a little overwhelming at the start because the skill tree is a little difficult to understand at first. However, we have curated this Ghost Recon Breakpoint Skills Guide in which we have explained everything that you should know about choosing your class and proceeding to purchase the skills from the skill tree.

Skills Guide – Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Our Ghost Recon Breakpoint Skills Guide details everything that you need to know about Ghost Recon Breakpoint skills and classes.

Choosing a Class

There are four main classes to choose from. Unlike most games, you are not stuck with a single class once you have selected it. Just like your perks, weapons, and armor, you can choose a class in your loadout at any time and your bonuses will instantly switch to the new class that you choose. To choose a class, simply head to the loadout tab and check the top-left corner where the Class icon is.

The four classes in Ghost Recon Breakpoint are Field Medic, Assault, Panther, and Sharpshooter. You must know that you have to unlock the classes from the Skill Tree screen. Unless you have unlocked a class by spending a Skill Point, you cannot choose it. Therefore, choose your first class very carefully because you might be using it for some time because it is best if you stick to your first class and then spend the remaining Skill Points on purchasing some active and passive skills and perks asap.

Each class in the game comes with three unique attributes because you can always switch out the perks to your own liking. These three attributes include Class Technique, Class Item, and Class Proficiencies. Class Technique is a unique ability that is only available to that specific class. Class Item is a unique item that is only available to that unique item and Class Proficiencies are the strengths of that particular class.

Below we have detailed all four classes and their strong points.

Field Medic

Field Medic excels at improving your revival and medical techniques and it basically a support class. It will grant you faster revives, give you increased speed when you carry bodies and move around and also the ability to revive yourself if you are down.

  • Class Technique: Healing Drone – It will roam the area and heal and revive any downed enemies in the area.
  • Class Item: Medkit – Apart from the health injections, Field Medic will grant you an additional healing item called Medkit.

Assault

Assault is based on killing enemies by taking them head-on. This class is all about making your tough enough to stay in combat as long as possible. If you choose this class, you will get a health boost and assault rifles and shotguns bonuses as well which will ensure that you deal additional damage to your enemies.

  • Class Technique: True Grit – It will add a damage boost to your shots and also reduce the overall recoil of your weapons.
  • Class Item: Gas Grenade – Throw the Gas Grenade and it will release a deadly gas in impact which deals damage to enemies who come in contact with the gas.

Panther

As the name suggests, Panther is focused on stealth and ambushing enemies. When you choose Panther as your class, you will be able to stay in the shadows easily. It will give you an added bonus to stealth and also a faster movement speed in all poses. Along with this, using suppressors on handguns and submachine guns will also not reduce their damage.

  • Class Technique: Cloak & Run – This ability will allow you to vanish right in front of your enemies in a cloud of a smokescreen.
  • Class Item: Cloaking Spray – This is an extremely useful item and it will make you undetectable by those pesky drones flying around Auroa.

Sharpshooter

Sharpshooter class is all about keeping as much distance between yourself and your enemies and keep them guessing where the bullets are coming from. This is strictly limited to using Sniper Rifles and if you want to fully take advantage of this class, you must stick to Sniper Rifles. This class will allow you to hold your breath much longer when taking aim and will also grant you bonuses when you use Sniper Rifles and DMR.

  • Class Technique: Armor Buster – This ability will increase the penetration power of your bullets and will also increase their damage and speed.
  • Class Item: Sensor Launcher – This item will allow you to quickly mark enemies in a large area and pick them off one by one with your sniper rifle later.

Skill Tree

After selecting a class, your next option in the Skill Tree is to purchase skills. You must know that this might be tagged as a simple Skill Tree but not all of these are skills. Some are Passive Skills while some are perks, weapons, and other useful items as well. All of them are clearly marked in their categories to make things easier for you. You must also know that you can only equip 2 perks at max. In the beginning, you only have 1 perk slot however you can unlock additional perk slots by spending some Skill Points in the Skill Tree.

Your first stop in the Skill Tree is to unlock the four basic skills. Although you are not forced to buy all four at once I would recommend that you purchase all four first and then begin to expand in other sections. Once you have purchased the four Basic Skills, they will unlock access to other branches of the Skill Tree giving you the freedom to develop the rest of the build yourself.
