Update: PS4 Update 7.00 is now live for everyone to download and explore the new features it brings with it. Players can now download the update which is around 447.9MB in size. For more details on what is new in the latest update, check out the details below.
Original Story: The latest PS4 update 7.00 is arriving this week and it is bringing some major additions and changes with it. The two most highlighted changes include increased party size and Android Remote Play support. The latest features will allow players even more flexibility while playing games on their PlayStation consoles.
The party limit is increasing with the upcoming update. At this point, you can have a party of 8 players however when the new update goes live, this limit will increase from 8 to 16 and will allow each party to have around double more players in it. This will work great for players who simply want to hang out at the same party even if they are not playing the same game. This is one of the great features of PS4 parties that you don’t really need to be playing the same game to join one.
Apart from increasing the number of players, the new update will also bring with it improved network connectivity and audio quality. US players will also get new accessibility options which will allow players to access transcription services. This particular service will allow players to convert voice chat to text on a second screen or type out which is later read aloud making it easier for players with special needs.
The other major feature arriving in the update 7.00 is the addition of Remote Play support for Android. Previously, this support was only available on iOS and PS Vita however with the new update, any players who have devices running Android 5.0 or higher will be able to play their PS4 games on their Android devices vial Remote Play. It also included the controller support for mobile devices however controller support will require Android 10.
PS4 Update 7.00 is slated to arrive later this week.
