To celebrate the release of Star Citizen Alpha 3.7 ‘Into the Depths’, Cloud Imperium Games is currently hosting a ‘Free Fly’ event which will allow all players to try out the brand new Alpha free for a week. Players who want to try out the brand new spelunking mechanics introduced in the Alpha 3.7 can do so right now for free and have all the way to the weekend to keep playing it.
Alpha 3.7 adds a brand new cave system to Star Citizen allowing players to mine, gather and accumulate valuable resources, evade the new RSI Mantis’ quantum enforcement device and sell the collected resources to rent bigger and better ships with the earned in-game currency. Players will also be able to team up with their friends using the mission sharing mechanic to take down unsuspecting pirates.
The Free Fly event started on October 28, 2019, and will continue to run until November 3, 2019. During this time, anyone can download and play Star Citizen across five ships as they traverse the vast reaches of the Stanton System. Anyone who wants to jump in Star Citizen can download and jump in the action right now.
In Addition, during this time, all new players who want to purchase the ‘starter packs’ can nab at discounted prices with the least amount being $40. This will grant them a starter ship, a game package, 3 months of ship insurance along with 1,000 UEC to start their space adventure with. The five ships granted to players during the Star Citizen Alpha 3.7 Free Fly include:
- Consolidated Outland Mustang Alpha – Consolidated Outland’s ship for those wanting to push the limits a little more when starting out, the Mustang has good maneuverability and some space for cargo.
- Banu Defender – a multi-crew fighter whose patchwork design features both Xi’an thrusters, Tevarin shields, and four Singe tachyon cannons. Though cargo space is limited, the Defender features modest accommodations for its crew and provides easy access to components.
- Roberts Space Industries Aurora MR – A balance of function and performance, the Aurora MR comes with cargo capacity and guns to ensure freight gets there safely.
- Drake Cutlass Black – Drake’s multicrew Cutlass is highly versatile, with combat and cargo prowess.
- Avenger Titan – A former police ship with a cargo hold for light freight and courier abilities.
