The future of the Silent Hill franchise has been pretty much unknown since Hideo Kojima and Konami parted ways and the demo P.T. was removed from PSN stores. However, we were getting some rumors here and there for the past months that Konami and Sony are working on two new Silent Hill games that could be a reboot of the franchise which was originally the plan with Norman Reedus’ Silent Hill or could be a brand new game in the franchise.
The latest news comes from Rely on Horror who report that Sony is currently working alongside Konami to bring back the Silent Hills franchise with not one, but two brand new games. Both new games are slated for PlayStation 5 and will not release on the current generation console. The games are funded by Sony however Konami is behind the development wheel of both the games since Konami still owns the IP.
This news should still be taken with a grain of salt since there is no official confirmation of this news. According to Rely on Horror, both Silent Hill Series Reboot and Silent Hills Revival are under works and the news comes from a trusted source. As much as we want the news to be true, we still need to wait for a confirmed announcement before we can celebrate the return of one the best horror franchises in video game history.

According to Rely on Horror’s report, one of the titles is a ‘soft reboot’ of the franchise and will be simply called Silent Hill. Keiichiro Toyama,director and the writer of the original Silent Hill released back in 1999, will be working alongside Akira Yamaoka, composer for most games in the franchise, and Masahiro Ito. The SIE Japan Studio, which developed Siren: Blood Curse, will be working on the title.
The second title in the franchise could be Silent Hills which is the previously canceled title in the franchise with Hideo Kojima. The source claims that Sony is trying its best to patch up Konami and Konami in order to bring the canceled game back to life The game might also use the next-gen PS VR headset for PS5. Sony has initially pitched the title as a TellTale/Supermassive narrative-driven title.
