Deep Silver has finally announced the release date for Shenmue 3, a game that was first revealed in 2015. The game was developed as a Kickstarter project and is now finally nearing its completion. Now we finally have the release date announced today during the GamesCon 2018. We now have a confirmed date that Shenmue 3 will be released on August 27, 2019.
Check out the latest trailer for Shenmue 3 below.
Shenmue 3 is the latest entry in the Shenmue series and it is an action-adventure game published by Deep Silver. The game has been developed mostly using the crowdfunding, which has spanned over three years, and now the final product is almost complete.
The third installment in the franchise continues the story of Ryo Hazuki who is investigating his father’s murder. We do not much about the game at this point as the developer has not revealed more information at this point but we do hope that the game will retain the open world experience.
The game is set to launch on PS4 and PC. We do not know whether the developers are planning to expand to any other platforms at this point. If you have not played the original titles then you are in luck because the developer announced some time ago that both Shenmue I and II have launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
You can check them out below.
Both these titles are now available and you can start your adventure right now while you wait for the third title. We recommend that you play the first two titles if you want to really understand the story, characters and the setting of the third game, which is due next year.
