Intel Guide – XCOM: Chimera Squad
Our XCOM: Chimera Squad Intel Guide details everything that you need to know about intel in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
What is Intel in XCOM: Chimera Squad
Intel is one of the main currencies in XCOM: Chimera Squad that is mainly used for maintaining control over District Unrest on the City Map. This makes it one of the most important resources in the game because if the District Unrest rises too much, it leads to a state of City Anarchy and you lose the game. To prevent this and also purchase tons of other useful items in the game, it is vital that you have a steady supply of Intel to spend in the game.
How to Get Intel in XCOM: Chimera Squad
As important as Intel is in the game, there are plenty of ways to acquire Intel and plenty of it. Below you will find multiple ways by which you can acquire Intel in the game.
Spec Ops Missions
One of the most straightforward ways to acquire Intel is by completing Spec Ops Missions in the game. These missions can help you earn almost 65 Intel if you complete them successfully. You can send the units to these missions but you should know that units sent on these Spec Ops Missions are unable until they return back. Even with this restriction, Spec Ops Missions are a great way of earning Intel.
Play the Main Story
Apart from the Spec Ops Missions, playing the normal campaign will also net you a decent amount of Intel after every successful mission. You can check what the mission rewards are upon its completion so you can easily them out before launching them so if you need Intel, you can complete missions, operations, or situations that reward Intel.
Deploy and Upgrade Field Teams
Your Field Teams are vital for your success in the game but they are also a great source of weekly Intel. The more Field Teams you deploy in the game, the stronger your presence becomes in the game and you also earn more Intel per week. Upgrade these Field Teams and you will earn even more Intel. A fully upgraded Security Field Team can net you around 20-25 Intel every week which is a pretty decent amount. Each mission completed by these Field Teams will also net you a decent amount of Intel.
Extort Intel from Captured Enemies
You can also extract Intel directly from your enemies in the game as well. While you are out on a mission, instead of killing an enemy, use a Tranquilizer or melee attack to knock out an enemy and you can capture them for interrogation later. Once the mission is complete and you return back to your HQ, you get 20% of bonus Intel at the end. Try to capture enemies because extra Intel is always good. This is one of the classic methods of obtaining Intel directly from captured enemies.
Where to Use Intel in XCOM: Chimera Squad
The most important use of Intel in the game is to upgrade and maintain a healthy amount of Field Teams in all districts of the game. These Field Teams will ensure that you have good conditions in the districts and will help in avoidance of Anarchy. Apart from purchasing and deploying these Field Teams, you will also spend some Intel in their upgrades which is vital as well.
While the purchase and deployment of these Field Teams cost you Intel, they also earn you Intel in the long-run so the more Field Teams you have in the game, the more Intel you earn at the end of every week. It is sort of a give-and-take method where you spend little Intel and then get massive amounts of Intel back.
Apart from spending Intel on Field Teams, you will also need Intel to purchase new tools and gadgets from the Scavenger Market. Apart from the Fireteams, you will also need intel to deploy Finance Teams and Technology teams which allow you to earn Elerium and Credits, the other two resources in the game. All of this shows why Intel is the most important resource in the game and why you must have a steady supply of Intel in the game.
