Field Office Guide – XCOM: Chimera Squad
Our XCOM: Chimera Squad Field Office Guide details everything that you need to know about the Field Office in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
What is the Field Office in XCOM: Chimera Squad
The Field Office is your main hub where you manage everything in the game ranging from city districts to assigning your team different tasks to manage your resources, gear, and weapons. In short, when you are not blasting away at your enemies, you will be in your Field Office getting ready for more missions and ensuring that the city is under control. This makes it the most important aspect of the game.
On the right side of the screen, you can see a different number of tabs. Each of these tabs allows you to manage a different aspect of your team. If you see an icon of an Agent next to these tabs, it means that that particular agent is currently busy in that particular activity. We have detailed them below.
City Map
The main map of the city. It shows you everything that is happening in the city. You will manage your Targets and Situations on this screen. The map also allows you to manage your Field teams deployed in the city.
Assembly
This screen allows you to research new weapons, items, and gear. Although the Assembly can operate without assigning any Agent, if you do assign an agent, Assembly completes the task in half the time.
Spec Ops
On this screen, you can assign Agents to complete special missions which will come back with resources
Training
Training helps to improve your Agents’ skills and to heal their Scars. Scars are penalties that do not go away after a mission ends. The only way to get rid of them is via Training.
Armory
Here you can manage the loadout of all your Agents. Apart from managing their loadouts, you can also promote them, unlock new skills for them, paint their armor, and even read about the background of your agents.
Supply
Supply is a shop where you can purchase new weapons and gear for your agents.
Investigation
This tab has all the information you need to know about the factions you are fighting in the game. It changes as you progress in the game.
Scavenger
Apart from Supply, Scavenger is also a shop which you must unlock by completing a specific mission in the game. Once you have unlocked it, it will often provide you with unique gear. It is not always available.
Generic Tips and Tricks on What to do in Field Office
- You will obviously choose and complete different missions in the field office however you must focus on those missions first which offer the rewards that you really need. Not all of the missions reward you with the same resources at the end of a mission. If you need Intel, go for missions that reward Intel. Similarly, if you need Elerium or any other reward, choose a mission that offers your desired item as a reward.
- Try to keep District Unrest levels low. District Unrest is a vital component in XCOM: Chimera Squad so we have detailed this particular mechanic separately. You can check out our XCOM: Chimera Squad District Unrest Guide for more details on it.
- Keep upgrading your Field Teams to make them more efficient in District Unrest control. You will require Intel for upgrading these Field Teams but they are worth the investment so you must always try to upgrade as many Field Teams as possible in the game.
- Assign idle agents to Assembly to speed up researches. You can complete these researches if you do not assign any agents to them but if you do have people just sitting around, assign them in Assembly and the researches will complete in half of the actual time required for their completion.
