XCOM: Chimera Squad Enemy Factions Guide
Below we have detailed how to investigate the enemy factions, and what they do.
Enemy Factions
There are three different enemy factions in the game:
- The Progeny – This group of enemies are humans that specialize in Psionic abilities by using them to manipulate everybody.
- Gray Phoenix – This is an alien group of enemies that feature highly advanced technological weapons that they use, paired with their alien abilities.
- Sacred Soil – A hybrid faction that features multiple different species, and has an underground religious movement that they follow.
How to Investigate Factions
You can pick whichever faction you want to investigate first. When you have made your choice, you will then begin your investigation. Every time you investigate a faction, you go through three steps.
The first task in the investigation is the Groundwork. This is a short mission that begins the investigation in the first place. It is only when you finish the Groundwork, is when you will move to the second step which is Operations.
Operations is where you will have many encounters with the enemy faction and firefight missions. Operations are also where you find out where the faction has its secret hideouts, and then move on to them to defeat each. All of this build-up is to root out the faction by leading you to the boss of the faction.
Takedown is the last step in the process of defeating a faction. This is where you are ready to take out the evil faction from its roots by defeating the boss. Prepare yourself for heavy encounters with enemies before you can face off the faction leader or the boss. Once you have defeated the boss, you have effectively taken down the faction, hence concluding the investigation.
