Owlcat Games has announced that the Closed Alpha Test of its upcoming title Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is now live for all backers. Along with the release of the Closed Alpha Test, the developer has also announced a Slacker Backer campaign for the game which will help fund the new class and dinosaur companions for the game. The Closed Alpha Test is now available to everyone who contributed to the game’s Kickstarter campaign.
For those who missed the original Kickstarter campaign can take advantage of the Slacker Backer campaign and purchase access to the Alpha for $15 and select their tier to contribute to the crowdfunding campaign via the game’s official website. The new class to be added in Hunter and new mounts and Dinosaur companions will also arrive in the game if the Slacker Backer campaign meets its target in the time limit
Oleg Shpilchevskiy, Head of Studio at Owlcat Games says:
These are rough times we are living in right now, but we are doing our best to keep up with our development schedule and deliver the game as promised. Now that the alpha version is available to our backers, we are thrilled to receive feedback from our core fans.
The Closed Alpha Test of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is live now and will continue to run until May 21, 2020. It will allow players to play through the first two chapters of the game along with giving them access to six new classes, each with their own archetypes. Two prestige classes are also included in the alpha. Along with this, 10 new companions are also present in the game, and players will be able to take their first steps toward one of six Mythic Paths. The full game will have eight in total when it launched next year.
The Stretch Goals which were part of the game’s Kickstarter campaign have also managed to find their way into the alpha build of the game. These include mounted combat, increased reactivity for companions, and a meeting with a new companion Woljif Jefto. Some of these features are still under work so they will be further improved and balanced in the full release of the game. Some of this content might be missing or replaced in the future builds of the game as well.
Such as in the current build, romances, Crusade Commander features, and the Locust Swarm and Golden Dragon Mythic Paths are absent and the alpha’s UI is not updated yet. The developer has encouraged the testers to report any bugs and glitches they encounter via a survey. Oleg Shpilchevskiy further continues:
This is a significant moment for us – it will show us if we are on the right track. Moreover, a lot of the new features we’ve included were funded as stretch goals during our Kickstarter campaign. It’s time to show our progress on some of them, and I hope the backers will be happy with what they see.
All Kickstarter backers now have access to their own personal accounts to manage and upgrade their pledges as well. They can select specific add-ons, receive digital rewards, and edit their personal information as well such as their physical address to which all physical goodies will be shipped once they are ready. Another option available in their personal account is the option to pre-order the title and purchase additional packs that are similar to the Kickstarter tiers if they want to further support the developer in the development of the game. Other people can do so as well via the Slacker Backer campaign on the website.
