Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath

A new trailer shows RoboCop in Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath Expansion. The DLC will bring in new story, and return of familiar characters. NetherRealm Studios announced the Aftermath expansion in a trailer.

The Aftermath expansion trailer gives us a look into what the story is shaping up to be in the new content of the DLC features. The story picks up from where the main campaign story ends, but we also got to see characters like Fujin, Sheeva, and Nightwolf in action. The best part though, was the short part of RoboCop who comes right at the end of the trailer, confirming his addition to the game.

Aftermath expansion will release this month on May 26 containing the new characters. We also see the addition of the fan-favorite Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa to make his return as Shang Tsung as the devious sorcerer.

The story of Aftermath will evolve after the main story campaign where Liu Kang has finished Kronika, and where he and Raiden will prepare to use Kronika’s Hourglass to restart history. However, those intentions are soon stopped when new characters show up to disrupt their preparations.

Dominic Ciancolo, story and voiceover director over at NetherRealm Studios, talked about the story that will be featured in the expansions.

Shang Tsung explains that they were Kronika’s prisoners, released only upon her death, and they’ve come to stop Liu Kang from making a deadly mistake. During Liu Kang’s final battle with Kronika, he destroyed her Crown. If he tries to restart history without it, both the Hourglass and reality will be destroyed. All realms will be lost.

Liu Kang’s only solution? To send Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Fujin back into the past to retrieve the Crown before Kronika can even possess it. It’s a plan that’s so crazy it just might work, if Liu Kang can keep Shang Tsung from double-crossing him…

Mortal Kombat 11 was released last year on April 23, and the new DLC expansion will be the first major expansion of the game, featuring story content for the first time.
