It has been almost 10 years since the last Devil May Cry came out, but after years of rumors and speculations, Capcom finally announced the upcoming fifth installment of the series: Devil May Cry 5. The confirmed date of release set by Capcom is March 8, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Capcom also released trailers very recently that hinted the game will have three playable characters: Nero, Dante, and a third character that is yet to be revealed.
Nero comes with his trusty Red Queen sword, a new robotic arm, and his Blue Rose double barrel revolver that was also seen in Devil May Cry 4. Nero’s new arm can be seen having a variety of functions such as grabbing enemies from a distance or stopping time to freeze an enemy in its place.
Additionally, according to the information from Gamescom 2018, the music will be scaled directly to match the player’s combat performance.
Devil May Cry 5 – Plot Story
Hideaki Itsuno, who is the director of the Devil May Cry series, tells that the story is set many years after Devil May Cry 4 and that the main character, Nero, has set up his own demon hunting agency based out of a van that has a neon sign that reads “Devil May Cry”.
He also added that Nero’s new arm called the “Devil Breaker” was created in this new agency’s engineer Nico, as a replacement for his previously severed arm known as the Devil Bringer Arm.
Typically for Devil May Cry Series, there will be a likely antagonist figure in the game. It is rumored that Virgil, who was in Devil May Cry 3, will be coming back in this game.
