The third title in the Project Cars franchise has been announced by Slightly Mad Studios. Project Cars 3 was revealed with a trailer that was released yesterday on YouTube. While there aren’t many details yet, we do know that it is releasing this summer and that it will come with new features.
This is the first game in the franchise that will come from Codemasters who bought the developer, Slightly Mad Studios, last year in late November.
Check out the trailer below:
The reveal trailer features a 2-minute long video with several high-end cars in action. Now we all know Project Cars to be a game that focuses on being a racing simulation game, with somewhat realistic physics and racing features integrated into the game. The trailer, on the other hand, looks flashy, with a lot of movie sequence type action scenes as cars can be seen racing each other in the streets, and through the tunnels.
The first part of the trailer features an arcade-ish video sequence which kind of made the trailer look more like a Need For Speed game.
In the second half of the trailer, the video does show the racing aspect of the game, which Project Cars is truly known for, in some real-world tracks that the game usually features. This is something that the fans of the franchise would more want to see.
Ian Bell the CEO of Slightly Mad Studios and the executive director over at Codemasters was very excited about the third title in the series. Bell states that Project Cars 3 is a game changer, where the handling has ‘massively improved.’ He also adds that the career mode is massively involved.
Project CRS 3 is a game changer. All of the sim you could want with all of the fun you could want. Handling is massively improved, input on pads is transformed and FFB is amazing. The career mode is massively involved. I hope you all enjoy. We're proud here.

This doesn’t come as a surprise as Codemasters is known for having a deeply integrated career mode in its other games like the F1 franchise. Codemasters is the official developer the FIA licensed game that releases an official F1 game every year. Its recently announced F1 2020 is right around the corner as it releases next month on July 7.
