This Paper Mario: The Origami King Hole Punch Boss Guide will show you how to defeat the Disco Devil or Hole Punch boss. The battle begins when Mario and all the Toads are dancing on the dance stage, under the disco ball.
The dance will invite the Disco Devil Hole Punch onto the dance stage, and push you and the Toads out by taking the whole center stage. This indication is the beginning of the boss battle.
Paper Mario: The Origami King Hole Punch Boss Guide
This is a tough fight with the Hole Punch as it has the ability to punch a hole into Mario, and taking away a good amount of max HP. Any additional holes punched in Mario will again decrease the max HP. So you have to be careful with this attack and always be ready to counter it.
When the battle begins, the Hole Punch will punch the rings, creating holes. This means that you cannot cross any of the holes to get to the boss. Once you rotate the rings and get close to the boss for an attack, your weapon of choice should be the Flashy Hammer right behind the boss, on the black plastic plate. The yellow part of the boss is quite tough and will have no effect if you hit on this part.
Following your attack, the boss will grab Mario and punch a hole on Mario, decreasing your Max HP. This is the only tough part in the battle where you have to manage your health and block all attacks that follow. The Hole Punch will also throw out Mario’s punched parts out, which you have to collect to regain all the lost HP.
From this point, you have to continue with your attacks with the Flashy Hammer when you get close to the Hole Punch. In the final stage of the battle, the Hole Punch will prepare for its special attack, and you have to avoid it by summoning Earth Vellumental to raise the platform and avoid the boss’ attack. Follow this up with a few final blows of your own and you will be done with the battle.
