Developer HeroCraft has announced a brand new pirate action RPG Under the Jolly Roger for Nintendo Switch. Under the Jolly Roger is slated for release on September 3, 2020, on Nintendo Switch and will cost $15.99. Pre-orders will remain live for 3 weeks leading to the launch of the title.
Under the Jolly Roger is an open world RPG filled with dozens of colonies and forts, hundreds of quests, and countless ships to plunder. You will have the freedom to free roam three vast worlds. For becoming a true corsair, you will need to acquire a massive arsenal including guns, mortars, flamethrowers, and different naval gear. You will also take part in multilevel quests in order to obtain the most antique sea pieces.

Under the Jolly Roger is essentially the Nintendo Switch version of Tempest which was released earlier on PC and PS4. The PC version has been out for quite some time however the game came out on PS4 earlier this year and now it seems that the game is releasing on Nintendo Switch under a new name. You can check out our review of the PS4 version of the game. Tempest was also released by HeroCraft however now the game is carrying a brand new name for its Nintendo Switch release.
Tempest allowed you the freedom to wander the seas, join different factions, complete missions, battle with other ships, and upgrade your ship to make it better. You can also trade goods and supplies at various ports scattered throughout the world. Your crew plays an important role in your journey and you are able to hire, manage, and train your very own crew members who become skillful enough to be great pirates alongside you.
