SK Hynix has launched World’s first consumer-grade 128 Layered 4D NAND SSD named the Hynix Gold P31. This is SK Hynix’s fastest consumer SSD, and it is available in 500GB and 1TB variants. The SSDs use company’s latest 128-layer TLC NAND memory along with their own in-house controller.

The Hynix Gold P31 uses PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and offers best-in-class read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3,200 MB/s. These speeds make it a good choice for enthusiasts, designers, gamers, and creators alike. The drive supports the PCIe NVMe interface based on 4D NAND Flash technology.

The Gold P31 PCIe NVMe SSDs designed to offer high capacities high performance at relatively low costs, which is achieved by the use of 128-Layer TLC NAND memory. The storage devices are also equipped with thin heat spreaders made of graphene to ensure stability and consistency in read/write speeds.

The Gold P31 also has reliability tested and validated through 1,000 hours of high-temperature operating life tests. The mean time between failures (MTBF) also reaching 1.5 million hours during testing. The SSD also comes with a five-year warranty.

The SSD market’s rapid transition to the PCIe NVMe interface has made SK Hynix an established leader in supplying reliable PCIe NVMe products to global PC OEMs. The newest SSD is one of the fastest and most innovative consumer SSDs on the market, sporting the latest technology from the company.

SK Hynix first used the 128-layer 4D TLC NAND memory in their high-end server storage last year and now they have transitioned the same technology to the consumer side. A 2TB model has also been hinted on the same memory and will be branded as P31.  The price is also reasonable for the SSDs, with the 500GB and 1TB variants coming in at 74.99$ and 134.99$ respectively.
