Renowned Twitter leaker l0vetodream has suggested that the upcoming new lineup will feature a 5.4-inch iPhone and it will be called the iPhone 12 Mini. The anonymous Twitter leaker l0vetodream today tweeted the names of the upcoming iPhone 12 phones.

The leaker says that the new iPhone lineup will be called iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 is expected to be officially announced by Apple in October. This would be the first time that Apple would be using the ‘mini’ branding for an iPhone. These brand names have been circling around the rumor mill for a while, but l0vetodream has built up a good track record of accuracy this year, making this leak particularly notable.

Apple has used the ‘mini’ naming scheme previously for its other products line up like the iPod mini, Mac mini, and iPad mini. But for the first time, we will see a mini iPhone. According to l0vetodream, the iPhone 12 will be releasing in 4 different sizes. They are as followed

iPhone 12 mini (5.4-inch)

iPhone 12 (6.1-inch)

iPhone 12 Pro (5.8-inch)

iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch)

This time, all the new iPhone 12 devices are believed to feature OLED displays. All models are believed to be powered by the Apple A14 chips, support for 5G cellular networking and more RAM. The major differentiating factor between these new iPhone 12 models will be the number of cameras. The Pro models will ship with more three cameras, while the non-Pro models will ship with two cameras.

However, none of the devices in the iPhone 12 lineup will ship with bundled earbuds or charger for the first time. Apple foreshadowed this move by announcing that the Apple Watch Series 6 will not come with a power adapter as well, citing environmental reasons.

Apple usually announces their new iPhones in September but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the launch event has been delayed and the company is expected to announce the new phones in a virtual event in October. However, Apple did have a Time Flies event during which Apple showcased its new range of iPads and other upcoming devices. Also, make sure that you check out our detailed feature on iOS 14.
