Acer Predator X34S

A new Acer monitor has been spotted on the Chinese online market site Taobao. The new monitor, called the Acer Predator X34S was recently listed on Taobao and it features many new upgrades from the predecessor Acer Predator X34P. The Acer Predator X34S looks to be an upgrade in almost every department from its predecessor Predator X34P.

Acer Predator X34S is an UltraWide-QHD monitor with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels. The Acer Predator X34S comes with a 200Hz Refresh Rate panel & DisplayHDR 400 Certification along with many changes to increase your performance while gaming. The panel in the Acer Predator X34S is a Nano-IPS (98% DCI-P3 coverage) which features 200Hz variables refresh rate, and ultra-low response time of 0.5 seconds, and G-Synch support as well.

It has a DislayHDR 400 certification and official SDR brightness of 400 nits and up to 550 nits in HDR mode. The X34S monitor has the same 1900R curvature as Predator X34P but has double the refresh rate than Predator X34P and HDR400 Certification as well which was absent in it due to its maximum 300 nit brightness.

Widescreen monitors are becoming more and more popular as time passes and the Acer’s new X34S is the newest addition to the curve monitor market. However, it has some shortcomings as well. The biggest issue is the lack of HDMI 2.1 support which would have been a big boost as HDMI 2.1 is supported by both upcoming Consoles and Graphic cards as well.

It also has dual HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort input. The features and upgrades definitely outweigh this one issue that will only affect a small percentage of next-gen console gamers. As far as pricing is concerned, it was listed for 9999 Yuan on Taobao which converts to about $1472. The monitor hasn’t been officially unveiled by Acer yet so pricing may change for different regions.
