Anzu has announced that former Activision Blizzard Executive Ruben Dehouck has joined the company as a new Strategic Advisor. Ruben has a long and proven track history in the video game industry and has spent over more than ten years at Activision Blizzard in various globally operating roles. During his tenure at Activision Blizzard, Ruben led marketing operations for the Call of Duty franchise.
Ruben was also in charge of the commercial operations for the kids’ video Skylanders and owned strategic partnerships with key industry partners including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. Ruben joins the existing roster of an impressive group of strategic advisors at Anzu including David Sable, Takuya Banno, and Jamie Gutfreund. Anzu believes that Ruben’s vast experience will help the company’s overall gaming strategy and strengthen the company’s position specifically within the AAA gaming segment.
While commenting on his new appointment, Ruben Dehouck said:
In-game advertising offers developers and publishers a compelling new revenue stream, but only if it’s done right. Anzu’s cutting-edge tech solution ensures non-intrusive, blended real-world advertising in video game ecosystems. It’s a solution that understands and respects gamers’ expectations. I’m excited to help drive in-game advertising to new heights and leverage the enormous appetite of leading global advertisers to build meaningful relationships with the ever-growing, 3 billion plus global video game audience.
Anzu co-founder and CEO Itamar Benedy also commented:
We are thrilled to have Ruben on board. He brings a wealth of experience, and his knowledge, which sits at the intersection of gaming, advertising, and strategic partnership development, will be invaluable to us as we move forward.
Anzu is not a new name when it comes to the in-game advertisement as it is the only company with an ISO 27001 certification. Anzu has been expanding its presence in the in-game ad sector with various exclusive partnerships and major video game developers and publishers such as Veritas Entertainment, Ubisoft, Unfinished Pixel, Takuya Banno, the president of Tozai Games, Lion Castle, Zula, APB Reloaded, Vivid Games, and Toplitz Productions. Their latest partnership is an expanded partnership with Axis Games for in-game ads in their upcoming eSports League marking the entry of Anzu in the eSPorts segment as well.
