Watch Dogs: Legion Beginner’s Guide
Below we have detailed some beginner tips to get you started in the game.
Choosing an Agent
As mentioned before, there isn’t just one character in the game that you play with. Especially if you have permadeath on. Your choice for the first character should all depend on your preference of Perks that you want to have in your character.
The game starts with listing a handful of civilians you can pick from. Each of the civilians comes with different perks that you can go through and decide for yourself. It is not really about choosing the character, but more about how you play with them or how your progress with them.
Permadeath
Permadeath is a really interesting feature of the game, which is also one of the biggest gameplay elements. Watch Dogs: Legion doesn’t want you to cling on to one character, but show you how connected the whole system is when you can choose any civilian if you die.
This gameplay feature is how the game is meant to be played with, which you can do so by turning on permadeath, allowing your chosen character to be vulnerable and possibly die in some encounters. Permadeath is quite frankly the most fun way to play the game and makes you feel kind of invincible in the city with how much control you have.
Complete Missions
There is no denying that the city of London in the game is inviting you to look around and explore the open world. However, for the best experience, you should complete a few main missions before you start exploring.
Completing missions introduces and unlocks many other features that are vital for the gameplay. From side quests to recruiting other agents, there is a lot more to explore than just admiring the place.
Collect Tech Points
Tech Points is a very important item in the game that allows you to buy or upgrade weapons and tech. Tech Points can be quite tricky to find and collect, but you can increase your chances by completing Borough Activities.
Depending on the type of character you want, Tech Points can unlock various items, weapons, and gear that can shape your playstyle. From using the various gadgets like drones and other tech allows you to fight without even having to face the battle.
Recruiting Agents
Recruiting another character gives you an ally that can work and fight alongside you. Before you recruit a character, you can check out their traits and their details which can help you decide if they are the type of ally you are looking for.
You can recruit anyone if you have the Deep Profiler Upgrade, which allows you to pick on characters that are not on good terms with the DedSec, but come with really helpful abilities that you can use with them.
Tips & Tricks
Below we have listed some tips and tricks that can help you:
- Before you engage with enemies in an area, you should use drones to scan the unfamiliar territory and use the devices to plan out a more strategic ambush or attack. You can also hack drones to use them to your advantage.
- You can also hack a lot of things from enemy drones to cars on the road to clear out the way for you. Hacking also allows you to manipulate police cars to make them lose your tail.
- Engage in the various activities or hack devices that reward you with ETO. You can hack ATMs, slot machines, or play some mini-games to earn ETO as a reward.
- Enemies can be shocked and stunned by using the Shock Hack. This allows you to sneak behind for a takedown attack.
- Look for fast travel points on the map, which will allow you to travel to any location nearby.
- Some missions require you to have a Spiderbot. While you can use your own, there is usually one nearby that you can use for a certain task in the mission.
