How to Unlock
As mentioned before, Throwdowns are not unlocked from the start. So, if you are looking to rake on a challenge with one opponent, this is the only way you can do that. To complete Events, you have to go to the Career Mode and then navigate to the Event tab.
From this point onwards, you have to participate in the different Events and keep playing as many Events as you can, as it will only take you closer to unlock Throwdowns. You will know when you have unlocked Throwdowns, specifically when AJ shows up and tells you about the Throwdowns for the first time in the game.
Now you can go back to the Career Mode menu and navigate to Throwdowns and start playing 1v1 with other drivers to compete and win. Keep in mind that in order to unlock more Throwdowns, you need to earn Stamps, complete special tasks, and special events.
Throwdowns are also special because they give you a unique reward upon completing or winning the race. They can be quite tricky to win so make sure you are ready enough to take tough opponents and achieve victory against them.
