Sony Officially Ends PS2 ‘Aftercare Clinic’ Service

Aftercare Clinic

Sony has officially canceled its aftercare clinic service support for PS2 console. The service allowed console owners to get repaired their PS2 from official Sony technicians. It has been more than 5 years that Sony stopped manufacturing of PS2, now the service program got cancelled as well.

The Aftercare Clinic service program created a trust of console users on Sony technicians. Since the service is cancelled, any one who gets damage or hardware problem in PS2 will need to find specialists for repairs. However, I for one believe there are lots of hardware specialists locally.

Sony PlayStation 2 is by far the most number of units selling console in history. The recorded history says more than 150 plus million PlayStation 2 consoles were sold. PlayStation 2 launched in 2000 and Sony officially stopped manufacturing of console in 2012. In 12 years, Sony reached hallmark of 150+ million sold units.

PS2 also had a lot of exclusive games that received a wide range of audience. Few of the exclusives got sequels and fan following grew even more. Few of my favorites are: God of War, God of War 2, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Grand Turismo 4 and Shadow of the Colossus.

However, many other top of the line exclusives released in PlayStation 2 era includes: Okami, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus and more.

In another news, Hover is the newest multiplayer parkour game coming to PS4 in September. It is an indie title from the studio Fusty Games that has been busy in working on this wonderful little game for the past four years. You can check out the action packed trailer of Hover below.
