Microsoft has launched a brand-new color Pulse Red for its new Xbox controller which was released alongside its next-gen consoles Series X and Series S. Pulse Red joins the already available family of colors for the new Xbox Series controller that includes Shock Blue, Robot White, and Carbon Black. As of now, the Xbox Design Lab is currently offline which means that Microsoft is not offering custom controllers at this point, so a new official color is certainly a welcoming decision.
The new Pulse Red controller features matte black triggers, bumpers, and a hybrid D-pad however the joysticks, the front shell of the controller the color of letters inside the buttons and the remaining buttons are all red with the exception of the white Xbox button in the middle of the controller. However, at the back, you will find three colors which are red, black, and white. Most of the shell is red at the back however the center of the controller including the battery slots are white in color.
I do not know about you, but I am not a fan of the white color at the back. The original red and black combo of the controller looks really good and from the front-side, it looks amazing however at the back, the white just throws you off with the black triggers and bumpers and the red handles going down on each side. While everyone has their own taste for the colors. I certainly do not like the white bit at the back of the controller.
As always, the controller supports the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One family of consoles and can also be used with PCs and Android devices without any problems. It can remember multiple devices so you can quickly switch between the devices however using a USB to connect the controller to the PC also works just fine if you prefer a wired connection. The controller also comes with the 3.5mm stereo headset jack along with a USB Type-C port.
