
Publisher Retrovibe and developer small bros have announced the sci-fi 2D Metroidvania-inspired shooter BIOTA. The game will release on PC via Steam and GOG.
The game will have you battling mutants, aliens, and more through more than 10 different biomes. You play as members of an elite commando team, each with their own abilities and weapons.

B.I.O.T.A. is a sci-fi 2D Metroidvania-inspired shooter set on an asteroid mining facility overrun by a mysterious organic lifeform able to manipulate and control organisms it comes in contact with. Featuring glorious 8-bit visuals and an upbeat chiptunes soundtrack, B.I.O.T.A. is a love letter to adventure games of the past.
Members of the Gemini 2 commando squad made up of a skilled group of war veterans will be fighting more than 40 types of mutants. Your task is to recover the missing miners. As the Gemini 2 team, you have 10 different environments to explore through the asteroid, traveling on foot, your submarine, mech, shuttle, or other vehicles the game has to offer.
