As you explore the world of Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD, you will find Bird Statues, especially near main locations. When you find a Bird Statue, go to it and interact with it.
This will allow you to fly to the location you want to go to. While you cant simply choose the location and let the game transport you, flying and controlling gives you the freedom to go to a certain location, and cuts down time significantly.
