How to Get
The Hylian Shield is unlocked after you complete a tough mini-game. This is the Lightning Round boss rush where you have to defeat all the bosses in the mini-game. The first thing to do is to get this mini-game, which can be done by talking to Thunder Dragon at Lanayru Gorge.
The challenge will pit you against many bosses, each with their own fighting style attacks and strategy. To complete the challenge, you need to defeat all of the eight bosses in this challenge in one go. This is especially difficult when Link’s health and items are carried over for the next boss fight. Going in underprepared is a quick wish for death, but having plenty of resource items without the right strategy will be a futile attempt as well.
However, you can choose the order of boss fight yourself, meaning you can either start off with the toughest boss to the easiest, or vice versa. Defeating all the bosses will unlock the Hylian Shield which you can then use as your primary weapon in combat.
