Wreckfest Pays Homage to the Carmageddon Franchise in Latest Update

Wreckfest Carmageddon

THQ Nordic and Bugbear Interactive have revealed the latest free update for Wreckfest, and it pays homage to the Carmageddon franchise. If you have been playing games since the PS1 era, chances are that you remember Carmageddon as well which combines car action with zombie slaughter. The latest Wreckfest update is all about wrecking zombies and zombie cows along with your enemies.

At its core, Wreckfest shares a lot of mechanics with the Carmageddon franchise and because of this very reason, the game’s next update features a tournament that pays homage to this iconic franchise. The new Carmageddon Tournament is now live in Wreckfest as part of its latest update and it is completely free for all players of the game. In the new Carmageddon Tournament, players can take part in two different events on the famous Carmageddon tracks Bleck City and Death Canyon.

A new car is now available in the game as well, the iconic Eagle R, however, you have to unlock it first from Carmageddon Max Damage. Check out the trailer for the new update below:

Key features of the new update include:

  • THE MONTHLY EVENT: CARNAGE ACCUMULATOR – Set in Bleak City, players are free to roam the map and have three minutes to score as many points as possible by wrecking AI cars and eliminating green-blooded zombies.
  • WEEKLY EVENTS: DEATH RACE – A number of racing events set in either Bleak City or Death Canyon, in which the players will race from checkpoint to checkpoint with the Eagle R and cause as much carnage as they can along the way by wrecking rivals and eliminating green-blooded zombies.

Wreckfest is now available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. All players who own the title on PS4 or Xbox One can upgrade to the next-gen versions for $9.99.
